OUR STORY
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
We want to meet and help people make the best of their whisky collection and along the way have fun, keep learning and add the odd bottle to our own collections
THE TEAM’S HISTORY
We had a love and passion for whisky so came together to help others with the same love

Hello and welcome to our website! We look forward to speaking or meeting you to discuss how we can help you decide what to do with your whisky collection. We are fellow whisky lovers so along the way there should be the chance to share a dram and share some stories

Paul Barnes
Having newly (early) retired and after spending 36 years as an Accountant, the majority of which were spent in the Drinks sector, I decided that in my retirement I would follow my passion for Whisky and do something I really enjoyed!
Having spent time with Scottish & Newcastle, Diageo, William Grants and Heineken I have built up a decent whisky collection. In fact, so much its very likely I’ll not have the chance to drink it all!
Therefore, I decided to sell those I thought I would not drink and then found myself buying in those key bottles “missing” from my collection. This made me think that there would be plenty of people like me, either wanting to sell part or all of their own collection; looking for help to find that special “missing” bottle or simply help in cataloguing the collection.
To do this, alongside my friend and colleague Ivan we have set up The Whisky Butlers. Above all we look forward to meeting fellow enthusiasts and to help them with their whisky needs. We aim to provide a personal “Butler” level of service so feel free to contact us.
Slainte (Cheers)
Paul

I live near Stirling in Central Scotland. Although originally from Ireland, I have spent so much time in Scotland that I feel more Scottish than Irish these days (apart from when the rugby comes around!).
I have spent all my career in Food Manufacturing during which I worked to supply major Retailers around the world. This experience helped teach me the value of great taste, appearance, quality and to understand brand appeal. In particular the value of rare/limited products.
I have always enjoyed drinking whisky. It is more than just a drink as it conjures up feelings of friendship, relaxation and can be a talking point in its own right. There is the history, the passion of the people who make it, and of course, those who consume it!
I would like to turn a pleasant past-time into a business, so I was delighted to team up with my colleague Paul to form the “WHISKYBUTLERS”.
We hope to provide a great service to others such as ourselves who might want to buy, sell, or simply catalogue their collection for valuation purposes. I would see our “WHISKYBUTLERS” service as knowledgeable and friendly with a flexible approach. We will set out to deliver a first-class service which hopefully will result in a lot of satisfied clients.
Enjoy your whisky.
Ivan
